I love the sound of concerts- The diverse and mumbled chatter from the crowd. I even love the "sound check" noises: "tap tap tap," "check, check, 1, 1, 2, 2," - the sound of tuning guitars and the amplified strumming. Its all so fantastic.
I also like how this concert venue was not and is still not (by any means) pretentious. The Malkin Bowl is a comfortable, cozy, not-too-big, grassy field enclosed by forest. People can spread their blankets out and everyone can enjoy and see the performer from any place on the field. It's actually one of my favorite concert venues. I dislike going to huge concerts where you pay over 100 dollars for nose-bleed seats and can't even see the performer/ the only way to see the performer is on a gigantic television screen near the stage- I mean, I might as well just stay home and watch the concert on TV. I have decided to opt out on these types of concerts. I'm into the cozy and intimate ones- you get more out of it as a spectator and lover of music. Nothing is better than a small outdoor concert surrounded by trees- there is something profoundly organic about it.

Anyway, I am glad my friends got there early because we were able to score an area directly front, center of the stage. Jason's performance was beyond phenomenal.- he is indescribable live. I especially like his ability to improvise with his songs. Take a look below at our amazing view and his singing in espagnol. nice.
